Off season training helps basketball boys set goals for future

The Rolla High School Basketball boys end their senior year on a note that they probably didn’t like, but some of the boys will be fulfilling their dreams and going on to play basketball in College.
“I’m playing basketball in college,” senior Kobe Wands said. The Rolla High School senior basketball players finished with a good season. Only two out of the four senior boys will be going on to college to play and fulfill their dreams.
“Not gonna play college ball because I need to focus more on myself and getting a job,” senior Zach Brown said
Some of the things Kobe does to make himself better for college ball and to be able to play,
“I have workouts everyday of the week, which includes lifting during and after school, getting up before school and going to my basketball gym or staying up late working on my game. I have many different trainers to help me become the best player I can be,” Wands said
“I changed from last year to this year by not just settling for a three every time I am open and have the ball, knowing that these are the things that will make me better for becoming a college level ball player, I have to attack and pull up, finishing up at the rim, or kick it out to one of my teammates who are open.” Wands said
“Next year’s boys are going to be good, just will have to deal with losing us for seniors like we had to the year before,”Brown said
Knowing the boys will do fine with a couple of the up coming players.
“It’ll for sure be a shock and different for the boys, as they will have to fill our roles and deal with the changes coach will have to make in order for the, to succeed,” Wands said
Some things the boys have said they could have changed to make their games better were,
“we had slow feet, we were slow at sliding over, and stood straight up too much,” Wands said
The boys knowing it’ll be a different experience in college are still succeeding their goals to going to college. Kobe has been going to multiple colleges and scrimmaging for them, showing them his talents and what all he can do. There has been talk about another Rolla Basketball Senior Sam Marshall going off to college to play ball also. As of now he is not for sure on if he wants to and if so where he will be going to. It is a very hard decision for all of the boys as this could determine their future.
