Competitive P.E.? Not so competitve

By signing up for Competitive P.E., I was under the impression that it would be a class where everyone, not necessarily even all athletes, would go out and be competitive in the games. It was my understanding, that during first semester, there were people who were turned away from the competitive class because they didn’t meet the requirements. I think this set of requirements has been dropped at second semester.

Being an athlete, naturally, I’m a very competitive person. There are plenty of people who aren’t athletes and come out and compete in the games. There is also that select few people who take the competiveness to a ridiculous level, and that just makes the class funny. Those aren’t the problem in the class. The ones who just stand there and don’t try are the ones who get on everyone’s nerves. They can have no athleticism at all, but as long as they try, they don’t bother me.

When you are playing a game of volleyball, and they move out of the way when the ball gets hit at them, it makes me feel like they should stick to regular P.E. You’re welcome to stand around and do nothing in that class if you choose to.

It’s incredibly frustrating to people who are trying to have fun in the class when others are just messing around. It’s like paying to play a traveling sport and the coach uses an optimist system by giving everyone equal playing time. There has to be limitations to what people can do what.
