Are you ready for college?

Although this month is important for college preparation, there aren’t many general tasks to complete in order to be on track.  Most of the tasks this month involve individual college applications, which need to be filled out or almost filled out by now.

For seniors, November is significant because college applications will be due soon. On the college applications, be positive all the required information and documentation are present when sent in.  Also, obtain financial aid application from colleges.

During November, consider taking the ACT or SAT if needed in order to secure more scholarships, and better scores help the acceptance rate.  Be on the lookout for scholarships, the guidance office puts a list online, check the list regularly. Apply for as many scholarships as possible because the more applied for the more likely to receive money.

Juniors, speak with your family about financial aspects of college.  Also, research and learn about eligibility requirements for federal and private student loans.
