How to deal with stress

Everyone gets stressed every now and then, and some way more than others. Everyone can also struggle with ways to deal with stress, so here is a list of 7 ways to deal with this worry.

  1. Don’t drink coffee. Since coffee is a stimulant it will only increase your stress level, not lower it.
  2. Balance your schedule. While being involved in different activities is a good thing, having too many extracurriculars is what will cause stress and sleep deprivation.
  3. Exercise. While it may not be the most fun activity, exercise has been known to lower stress and anxiety levels.
  4. Learn what your stressors are. If a certain thing is causing you stress over and over, such as leaving assignments to the last minute, then try to avoid that situation.
  5. Sleep. Most people avoid sleep when they are worried, but resting your body can give your body the break it needs.
  6. Meditate. Meditation can help calm your body and help you focus on what is important.
  7. Talk to someone. Just talking to a friend can be therapeutic, and maybe they can help with things you are stressed about
