As the sun rose over Rolla, Missouri on May 13, 2025, the atmosphere at the high school was charged with a mix of excitement and nostalgia. For the Class of 2025, this day marked the culmination of four years filled with growth, challenges, and unforgettable memories. With different emotions (sadness, joy, confusion, acceptance) in the air, the seniors weren’t just saying goodbye to the school, they were saying goodbye to a chapter of their lives that they’ll never get back. Even though classes are still in session for the rest of the high school students, there was no doubt that watching the seniors energy on the last day stuck with the students after the last bell. For senior Amiah Inda, her last day of high school was bittersweet, but also a milestone in her life.
“There was definitely some sadness seeing everyone in school for the last time, but there was also that feeling of accomplishment and relief,” Inda said.
Although being finished with school holds a widespread feeling of relief, moving on from certain moments and people can bring a sense of sorrow, as well.
“I am very happy to be done with high school. I had a great four years, but I’m excited to start a new journey and explore different things. ” Inda said.
From leadership in clubs and sports to friendships built in classrooms and hallways, the senior class helped define what it means to be part of the Rolla High School community. Though they’ve moved on to new beginnings – college, careers, or adventures unknown – their presence will be felt in every corner of the school they once called home. For those still at Rolla High, the days are long, but the years fly by. To the incoming freshmen, the Class of 2025 leaves behind the advice: enjoy every moment and involve yourself in everything.
As senior Hallye Hodges put it, “Being involved is what got me through high school. I looked forward to school knowing that I had a game that night or a competition the next day. It gave me so many friendships and an idea of what I wanted to do after high school.”
