The Into the Woods musical performed by the Rolla High School theatre department premiered on Feb. 16, 2024. Drama teacher and theatre director Kelly McNeven called this cast and crew “the perfect group to bring this story to life.”
“What a show. When we picked it, I questioned my sanity. Sondheim for high school? Can they pull it off? And the answer was a resounding yes,” said McNeven.
The production of the show was riddled with looming obstacles, but the cast found a way for the show to go on. For twelve seniors, this show was the final note of their high school musical career.
“Despite snow days and virtual rehearsals…and sickness and the near cancellation of opening night, they did it,” said McNeven. “They put themselves out there and it paid off. I could not be more proud of this group of kids.”
