The 2026 Rolla High School baseball season has been defined by immense dedication and a pure love for the game. The passion for the diamond runs deep in this group, with six out of the eight varsity seniors moving on to play college baseball. This impressive statistic highlights their elite talent.
Many of this year’s seniors embody the ‘Bullpup to Bulldog’ journey of grit and development. Many of these athletes are training year round, balancing school ball with summer leagues.
“At the beginning of the season, before we even started practices, me and the boys would get up before school started and go hit out at Licking,” said senior Jack Mrozowicz.
These players are more than just teammates; they are brothers off the field. With many having played together since childhood, they have built connections with one another that are unbreakable and rooted in constant encouragement and mutual support. Mrozowicz and fellow senior Ruger Covey met on the T-ball fields at Lions Club Park and eventually played outfield during high school ball. They became instant friends and have remained inseparable supporters to one another ever since.
“Jack is one of the best teammates I have ever had. He is always positive and he has come up big for our team more times than I can count. He’s an all around great athlete and a great guy to have on our team,” said Covey.
Though the seniors graduated on Sunday, May 17, they are still representing RHS on the District field. With a record-breaking regular season stat of 25-7, the varsity baseball team will travel to St. Clair on May 19 to begin District play.
