Students clean storm drain medallions

Many people don’t realize that our local storm drains empty straight into fresh water sources without filtration.

On Saturday, April 20th, the Rolla High School Stream Team #4173 assisted the Rolla Boy Scouts and Venture Crew 84 with a project to place medallions on local storm drains. The purpose of this project was to prevent pollution in nearby rivers and streams. In order to provide awareness, these two groups spent four hours placing medallions saying, “No Dumping-Drains to Stream” near storm drains. Recently, it has come to the school’s attention that these medallions have been removed from the curb.  In order for local waterways to stay clean, we ask that the medallions stay in their locations.

By leaving these medallions where they are, you are helping Rolla overall!
