OPINION: The government shutdown has gone on long enough

As the government shutdown looms into its fourth day, most people I hear are saying, “It’s all Obama’s fault for this shutdown,” or other phrases in that nature. This is actually far from the cause. For the public to truly understand exactly why the shutdown occurred let me explain in a very simple way.

Two kids are at recess, one’s name is Enate and the other one Rouse. They’re sitting at a table, enjoying some candy, when a new kid, named Cobama, comes up to them and asks to have some. Enate, knowing how it feels to be a newcomer, reluctantly says he will. On the other hand, Rouse chooses to not share with Cobama, saying he doesn’t like the way he looks. The Enate and Rouse then start to argue about why they should and should not share the candy. The fighting escalates to the point where a teacher has to come over. The teacher sends both of the kids to detention and says, “No one gets any candy until you two learn to compromise.”

That is basically how our government is right now. In detention because of some stupid fighting. So, in essence, our government is a bunch of kids fighting over something stupid, and they all need to get their acts together.
