Late game hit vs. Helias sustains Bulldog Softball team’s winning record

The Lady Bulldogs ran their record to 2-0 on the short season by winning an exciting extra inning affair, in come from behind fashion over Jeff City Helias 8 to 7.  Senior catcher Anna Feeler knocked in the winning run with a bases loaded single with no outs in the bottom of the 8th inning, after Kayla Reed led off with a single, Maegan Ray doubled, and Sydney Wells was intentionally walked.
Jade Deshurley was starting and winning pitcher for Rolla, going the distance, allowing 7 runs (3 earned), on 7 hits, striking out 4, and walking 8.
Rolla JV lost in 3 innings to Helias JV, 3-0.  Meredith Sowers started for Rolla, and suffered the loss, while Skylar Turner relieved in the last inning.Varsity linescore:  Rolla–8 runs, 16 hits, 3 errors
Helias–7 runs, 7 hits, 1 error

Offensively for Rolla:  Jade Deshurley was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI
Maegan Ray was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, 2 walks, and 1 double.
Sydney Wells was 2 for 4 with a walk, double, and 1 RBI
Kayla Reed was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored.
Avery Landers was 2 for 2 with a walk and 1 RBI.
Brooke Maxwell was 2 for 4.
Anna Feeler was 1 for 5 with 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.

JV game:  Rolla-0, Helias-3
Meredith Sowers had Rolla’s only hit.
