Second annual Polar Bear Plunge will raise money for Special Olympics

On February 15th, from 1:00-3:00 PM, the MSHP Troop I and the Rolla Police Department are holding a Polar Plunge. Just outside of Rolla, at the site of the Fugitive Run and Mud Obstacle Course people are allowed to run into the freezing water at Kearse’s Quarry for $75.00 (as a donation). Each participant is to find willing donors who pledge an amount of money based on how long the recipient is in the water. All proceeds go to the Special Olympics of Missouri. This being one of 14 Polar Plunges held across Missouri, come out to make the Polar Plunge a success and help out the Special Olympians of Missouri.

If you aren’t ready to plunge into freezing water, volunteer are needed for setting up, running registration and after it is all over cleaning the area. For more information about the Polar Plunge, contact: LT. Steve Davis at [email protected] or at (573) 368-1838.
