Tips for finding a job

One experience that most teenagers go through in their high school careers is having a job. From fast food to retail, their are a lot of options for a first job. For someone who has recently been employed for the first time, I would like to share some tips for finding the perfect part-time job.

Find a job you enjoy. This one should be pretty obvious. If you hate fast food, don’t work at a fast food place. If you hate talking to people, don’t take a job that deals with customer service, like a cashier.

Ask upperclassman. Chances are, you know someone who is working at the place you are considering applying to. Ask them about the job, the hours, and about the people who work there. This can keep you from getting a job you won’t like.

Prepare for the interview. It can only help you if you prepare for your interview. Research the business and show them that you are interested in what they do. You can also ask people who work there for tips on how to ace the application process.

I hope that these tips help with whatever job you are applying for, and good luck with the application process!
